Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss seemingly hinted at once hooking up with franchise legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson back in the ’70s.

Jeanie Buss inherited the Lakers from her father, Jerry Buss, following his passing at the age of 80 in 2013. Magic Johnson worked in the Lakers’ front office from 2017 to 2019, serving as the president of basketball operations.

Johnson played a pivotal role in recruiting LeBron James in 2018 free agency. Two years later, James led the Lakers to an NBA Championship (their first in 10 years) in the Orlando Bubble.

During a recent appearance on “ALL THE SMOKE” hosted by Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Jeanie Buss recalled one of the first interactions she had with Johnson after he was drafted first overall in 1979.

Buss recalled seeing Johnson’s signature and flashy smile when she opened the door to welcome him inside. And with the way she told the story, some fans are now convinced that Buss and Johnson hooked up that night:

Buss recalled Johnson even telling her that his plan was to leave the Lakers in three years so that he could play for his hometown team, the Detroit Pistons. After Jeanie relayed the message to her father, Dr. Buss promised Johnson wouldn’t play for another team after putting on the Lakers jersey.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Fans React to Jeanie Buss’s Revelation: What Does This Mean for the Lakers?

Buss’s recent statement has sparked a wide range of reactions from fans and media alike. For some, the news is a fascinating peek into the personal life of one of the most influential figures in the NBA.

The announcement has led many to revisit Johnson’s legacy in a new light, examining his influence on the Lakers not just as a player but as a part of the inner workings of the team’s history.

Could the relationship between Buss and Johnson have played a pivotal role in shaping the Lakers’ success during the 1980s? Or was it simply a brief moment that had no lasting impact?

Whatever the case may be, Jeanie Buss’s revelation has added another layer to the already rich tapestry of Lakers lore, and fans are eager to see how this story will unfold in the coming weeks and months.

Conclusion: Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson’s Secret Past

The revelation of Jeanie Buss’s possible past relationship with Magic Johnson offers an exciting new perspective on the early days of one of the NBA’s most storied franchises.

Whether or not Buss and Johnson’s connection had a lasting impact on the team’s trajectory remains unclear, but it undeniably adds a layer of intrigue to the story of the Lakers’ rise to prominence.

As more details emerge, fans can expect this story to continue making waves in the sports world, with journalists and basketball enthusiasts alike eager to uncover the full truth behind Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson’s secret past.

Jeanie Buss & Magic Johnson Brought Lakers Back To Relevance

The Lakers endured one of their worst stretch runs in franchise history from 2014 to 2019, finishing no better than 37-45 during that stretch. They missed the playoffs every year and had little draft lottery luck.

But Buss’ decision to bring Johnson back in 2017 proved to be a franchise-changing move. If not for Johnson, perhaps the Los Angeles Lakers would not have recruited LeBron, and their period of irrelevance would have lasted even longer.

Nick Bosa may have landed himself in hot water with the NFL following his actions after the San Francisco 49ers beat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

The Niners enjoyed a 30-24 win over Dallas in the ‘SNF’ fixture. Quarterback Brock Purdy had a stellar game, completing 18 of 26 passing attempts for 260 yards and a touchdown while showing some surprising athleticism as a scrambler.

Bosa also had an impressive outing as he made life pretty difficult for the Cowboys offensive line, also making three tackles, a sack, and two QB hits.

After the game, he popped up behind Purdy while the QB was being interviewed and pointed to his “Make America Great Again” hat before running toward the locker room.
