A viral video has emerged of an Orlando Magic fan having his dreams (and potentially, his heart) shattered during a “kiss cam” segment in a home game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The “kiss cam” segment on arena and stadium jumbotrons has been a popular feature at professional sporting events for many years. The cameras will pick out couples in attendance and dare them to share a kiss on the big screen.

But the kiss cam segment doesn’t always go as planned, as one unfortunate fan learned at a recent Orlando Magic-Memphis Grizzlies game at the Kia Center.

In the clip below, the cameras at the Kia Center cut to a young male and female together at the game. It’s unclear if they’re actually a couple or just friends, but judging by her giving him the cold shoulder, we’re going to guess it’s the latter:

Hey man, just about everybody has gotten stuck in the “friend zone” at least once. You’re not alone, and at least you have some supporters on social media.

It’s not clear which exact game this was, but the visitors defeated the Orlando Magic 105-104 at the Kia Center on Feb. 21…a week after Valentine’s Day. Ja Morant led the way in that one with 23 points, five assists and four rebounds.

Losers of three straight, the Magic (29-33) will look to rebound when they host the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday evening (7:00 p.m. EST). The Magic fell 104-102 to Scottie Barnes’ squad at home on Sunday, dropping them to eighth in the Eastern Conference.

Barring an epic late-season surge or brutal collapse, the Magic will participate in the play-in tournament. They’re 5.5 games behind the Detroit Pistons for the No. 6 seed in the East but also 6.5 up on the 11th-seeded Philadelphia 76ers, who are on the outside looking in.
