Kysre Gondrezick - Women's Basketball - West Virginia University Athletics

Kysre Gondrezick hasn’t played in a WNBA game since June 27, and yet, she remains incredibly popular in the basketball world.

Gondrezick, 27, started her WNBA career with the Indiana Fever as a first-round pick. She then joined the Chicago Sky for the 2024 season, averaging just 3.2 minutes per game. The front office released her from the roster since she wasn’t playing a huge role in the rotation.

Shortly after the Sky released Gondrezick, the veteran guard attended New York Fashion Week and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She basically explored all her options outside of basketball.

“I am all over the place right now,” Gondrezick said. “I’m in acting classes, acting training. I’m getting ready to shoot some film work for 2025. It’s been a heck of a year. It is funny, someone said, ‘You have trended more since you’ve been cut and since you were in the league — and you were trending so much in the league.’ I’m just living in the beauty of my purpose.”

Gondrezick proved this week that she’s not ready to abandon the Hollywood lifestyle just yet.

Just a few days ago, Gondrezick wore a stunning dress to the 2025 ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles. A video of her walking around Fairmont Century Plaza went viral on social media.

Gondrezick previously said that she’d like to continue playing in the WNBA.

“I’m just excited to see the outcome of what my journey is going to be with the W, because I don’t think that I’m done anytime soon,” Gondrezick said. “I don’t want to say that that was an ending. I want to say it was more so a transition.”

In the event Gondrezick changes her mind about the WNBA, she’ll receive plenty of opportunities away from the hardwood.
