WNBA star Angel Reese made basketball history on Friday night. She had 22 points and 21 rebounds in Rose Basketball Club’s victory over the Lunar Owls.

Coming into Friday’s game, the Lunar Owls were undefeated. While the 3-on-3 Unrivaled league might not be as established as the WNBA, Reese showed the basketball world that her effort level will always be at 100 percent. Not only did she post an incredible stat line, she taunted her opponent.

Reese, who earned All-Star honors last season, started taunting the Owls as she walked off the court. She kept yelling “toodle-oo” almost as if she was an actual owl.

Shortly after Rose Basketball Club’s win, a video of Reese mocking her opponent surfaced on social media. Fans had mixed thoughts on her behavior.

“Y’all can never make me hate her,” one fan said.

“She’s so funny for this,” another fan wrote.

“She’s an ENTERTAINER. Everybody ain’t built like this,” a third fan commented.

Of course, there were some people who thought this was a classless move from Reese.

“She’s gonna start crying in a month that people are seeing her as a villain,” one person declared.

During the 2024 WNBA season, Reese said she’s more than OK with taking on the “villain” role.

“Just looking at that, I’ll take that role,” Reese told reporters. “I’ll take the bad guy role and I’ll continue to take that on and be that for my teammates. I know I’ll go down in history, I’ll look back in 20 years and be like the reason why we’re watching women’s basketball is not just because of one person, it’s because of me too, and I want y’all to realize that.”

Reese’s style might not be for everyone, but she’s clearly finding ways to generate buzz in the basketball world.
