Kysre Gondrezick become a fan favorite in the WNBA last year in large part due to her pregame outfits. However, she was cut mid-season by the Chicago Sky.
Gondrezick was released by the Sky last June after averaging just 3.2 minutes per game. She didn’t sign with another team for the rest of the 2024 season. Instead, she attended a plethora of marquee events, including the ESPYs, New York Fashion Week and Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She also took acting classes to keep her options open.
“I am all over the place right now,” Gondrezick said. “I’m in acting classes, acting training. I’m getting ready to shoot some film work for 2025. It’s been a heck of a year. It is funny, someone said, ‘You have trended more since you’ve been cut and since you were in the league — and you were trending so much in the league.’ I’m just living in the beauty of my purpose.”
Despite tackling so many new professions, Gondrezick has insisted that she wants to keep playing in the WNBA.
“I’m just excited to see the outcome of what my journey is going to be with the W, because I don’t think that I’m done anytime soon,” Gondrezick said. “I don’t want to say that that was an ending. I want to say it was more so a transition.”
Well, WNBA fans aren’t buying that statement.

On Friday night, Gondrezick shared a few photos of her attending a David Yurman event. She wore a stunning dress that had her looking like a legitimate model.
With that said, fans are convinced Gondrezick is going to leave the WNBA behind so she can be a full-time model.
“Guess your done with the W,” one person said.
Another fan commented, “Are you going back to basketball or this is it?”
“There’s no way you play ball,” a social media user replied.
“Girl damn the WNBA. Get into modeling stat omg,” a fourth person wrote.
If Gondrezick is truly done with the WNBA, she’ll finish her career averaging 1.7 points per game. When she was at West Virginia, however, she put up superstar numbers.
During the 2020-21 college basketball season, Gondrezick averaged 19.5 points and 4.5 assists per game for the Mountaineers. She earned All-Big 12 honors before going pro.
We’ll see if Gondrezick returns to the WNBA this upcoming season.
