Patrick Mahomes is one of, if not the best, football players in the National Football League. Being that he is so popular, Images of the Chiefs quarterback circulate the internet like wildfire, and when something changes, it’s sure to go viral.

Mahomes had a solid season in 2024. He helped lead the Kansas City Chiefs to the Super Bowl in New Orleans, where they would unfortunately suffer a blowout loss. While many NFL may have been happy, the Chiefs weren’t.

During the off-season, NFL news slows down, so when significant changes happen, they catch the public’s attention. Whether it be roster moves, trades, or even appearance changes, fans notice it all, and Mahomes knows that all too well.

With his recent new haircut after their Super Bowl 59 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, some fans have questions about why the quarterback changed his hair so drastically. And now those fans may have the answer.

In an interview with FOX Digital News, DeJuan Bonds told a reporter, “I just think with the end of the season, frustration maybe, like, ‘You know what, I’m done. It’s time for a new look, change,’ and I think that’s pretty much what prompted his sudden urge.”

“It probably was a little bit [frustration], then there was like, ‘Hey you know, it’s time for a new look.’” Bonds also mentioned that Mahomes told him to take it all off before adding, “A lot of times, when someone says, ‘Cut it off,’ they don’t really know,’ he said.  ‘They’re just saying something. Me, as an experienced barber, I know that ‘cut it off’ really don’t mean ‘cut it off.”

After the tough 40-22 loss, Mahomes was clearly upset with his performance, which Bonds claims may have something to do with the outrageous claim made by the signal caller. In all honesty, it’s a good thing that Bonds knew what he really meant.
